SEPTEMBER 2011 ISSUE – VOL. 11 #8
The Rev. Jim and Diana Wilson, Coordinators

Dear People of the Northstate Vision:

What do August 6 and favorite t-shirts have in common?  August 6 is the day of traditional celebration of the Transfiguration – when Jesus took His closest friends up the mountain following Peter’s confession of Him as Messiah and was revealed to them in His Messianic Glory.  It is also the day of the first atomic explosion in war – saving millions of lives that would have been lost in an invasion of Japan.  It is the day prayer was banned from American schools, and the day thirty thousand Christians gathered in Houston, Texas, to pray for and repent toward a new Great Awakening.  My favorite t-shirt in Houston was the one that said, “If you want to walk on water you have to get out of the boat.”

The speakers in Houston were not identified in advance; organizers wanted us to come for Jesus, not for the chance to see a superstar of human invention.  Yet they were united in calling on the Church to repent and return to the Lord, assuring us that when the Church becomes the Church God intends the nation will follow suit.  We were not asked to repent of failing to confront the national sins; we were exhorted to come clean that we are no better – and sometimes not as good.  We were challenged to go public with our confessions and our re-commitment.  We were admonished to love our enemies and to humble ourselves before our God.  We were warned that Houston would achieve nothing unless we returned to our homes and communities and lived a lifestyle of repentance – of turning away from all that we have created and toward the waiting arms of our loving Lord.

That’s how all Great Awakenings of our past began; it’s the common thread of the new one for which God calls.  Let us step from the boat and walk.

CURRENTPrayNorthstateEVENTS

  • A Gospel of Power comes to Jesus Christ Fellowship in Middletown, California, in Lake County, the weekend of September 30.  One of the newer seminars of PrayNorthState, Gospel takes its marching orders from 1 Cor. 4:20 as it teaches participants about the dynamics of transformative revival and how to facilitate awakenings, how to navigate the Elijah Season prophesied in Luke 1:11-17, and the relationship between the dynamics of healing – physical and psycho-spiritual – and the coming of Great Awakenings.  The event is from 7-9:30 on Friday and from 8:30 to 5 on Saturday.  Jim will be at Jesus Christ Fellowship to preach and pray on Sunday, October 2, and to lead a healing service that evening at 6 PM.  There is no registration fee; love offerings will be taken.  Call us at 530-941-3470 for information.

  • Everything we know about revival and transformation are in the pages of The Holy Spirit and the End Times.  All we have to offer on reconciliation – the pre-requisite for transformation – is found in Living as Ambassadors of Relationships.  These books are recommended reading from the Miracle Channel (Living As…) and the International Healing Rooms (Holy Spirit) in addition to the major league endorsements they carry.  They sell for $16.00, but we offer the set for $25.00.  Prices include taxes; a $5.00 shipping charge is added to shipped orders.  E-mail praynorthstate@charter.net or call 530-941-3470.
  • To book any of the events we do – Praying Home the Prodigals, Seeding the Future, Prophetic Acts With Impact, Building A House of Prayer, or A Gospel of Power, call 530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.net.

WHAT’S UP IN THE NORTHSTATE AND BEYOND

  • Jim is on Facebook; search Jim Wilson (the one from Redding – and see the photo of Jim and Diana to identify the page) for photos, video of the interviews on the Miracle Channel and such.  It is all about PrayNorthState and we also have a PrayNorthState page; we are still developing that.  Jim’s blog is accessible through the personal and PrayNorthState pages – see Networked Blogs or Notes on the page – and directly through WordPress.com.  We hope everyone reads and “likes” our Facebook and blog pages.

  • Pray California hosts a one-day Worship and Warfare event in Sacramento Saturday, September 17, at Mars Hill Church on Arena Boulevard in the Natomas neighborhood.  Registration begins at 8:30 AM; the event is from 9 to 6 and the morning features a panel discussion between prayer and revivalist leaders from around the state.  (Jim is one of the panelists on hand – wouldn’t miss it!)  The afternoon will be worship and prayer as we seek God’s face for California and work to walk out Luke 1:17.  There is a $25 registration fee.  This is for anyone who cares and longs for transformative revival in California.
  • September 11 this year marks the 10th anniversary of 911.  Please be in prayer for our nation – and for a new Great Awakening to sweep through the Body of Christ.  Those who can are invited to join a prayer conference call titled “A Day of Repentance” and running from 5 AM to 5 PM on that Sunday.  Christians are asked to join in for one hour of their choice at 712-432-0085, access code being 6149782#.  For details go to www.nationalhighwayofprayer.blogspot.com.

  • SB 48 became law when Governor Brown signed it over the summer; it requires the re-writing of all California’s social science textbooks to depict homo and bi-sexual people in the most positive light, will cost untold millions of dollars in our cash-strapped state, and has the avowed purpose of indoctrinating students from kindergarten up to favor the gay lifestyle.  A referendum drive is underway to repeal the new law and the law is on hold until referendum sponsors can attempt to qualify for the June 2012 ballot.  Petitions can be downloaded at stopsb48.com.  Please pray blessings on all concerned – gay and straight – and sign a petition!
  • The River Church in Fresno announces the opening of the School of Supernatural Ministry Tuesday, September 13, on the church campus. The church is at 4450 N. Brawley Avenue, Ste 111, and can be reached at 559-492-7011 or at www.theriverfresno.com.  Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday Evenings and all day Saturday.  The school is part of a growing alliance of schools of ministry in Fresno designed to take ministry into the city.

  • 2 Chronicles 7:14 is one of the most known and beloved verses in Scripture.  If the people of God humble ourselves, seek His face, and call upon His Name – and turn from the embrace of our own best to acknowledge Him in all of our ways He will heal our hearts and the very land beneath our feet.  This was the call that went out from Houston in The Response; it goes around the nation in various e-mails.  Let us pray these verses for ourselves and the Body!
  • Teen Challenge’s Annual Banquet of Miracles is held September 15 at Simpson University in Redding, September 22 at the Yuba Sutter Fairgrounds, September 29 at Sunset Christian Center in Rocklin, and October 6 at Capitol Christian Center in Sacramento.  Teen Challenge has the best track record in history for fostering long term recovery for addicts and co-dependent people from all backgrounds.  These banquets are primary sources of support for the ministry.  A silent auction precedes the banquet – at 5:30 – with tickets costing $15.00 and free will offerings and pledges accepted.  Call 1-800-437-1919 or go on-line to www.teenchallenge.ws for information or reservations.

  • The Greater Works Healing Rooms are now in operation at the Vertical Call  in Santa Rosa.  They are open from 9-11 AM first and third Saturdays monthly.  Call 707-575-5956 or go to www.verticalcall.com.  The Vertical Call holds services of intimacy, intercession and impartation Sundays at 6 PM.
  • Regional Pastors’ Prayer Meeting for Governmental Leaders and Issues holds monthly meetings in the state capitol on the first Wednesday of each month from 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM.  Call 916-319-2003 for information.  The meeting is hosted by Assemblyman Dan Logue and facilitated by Pastor John Lucas of Gloryland Revival Center.  PrayNorthState is proud to participate in this opportunity to come before our King on behalf of California.

  • FaithWorks Coalition hosts its annual Graduation Celebration Dinner to benefit the people of the Francis Court Ministry.  Francis Court is a ministry of FaithWorks that houses formerly homeless families in a twelve unit apartment complex of two and three bedroom units built by FaithWorks for up to two years while they establish themselves for independent living.  The Gospel is offered alongside skills education but never imposed.  The Dinner marks graduation.  A coalition of more than seventy churches assisted the original set-up of the program.  FaithWorks is seeking table sponsors for the October 1 event to be held at Bethel Church, located at 933 College View Drive.  Call 530-242-1492.
  • Thirty Thousand Christians attended The Response:  A Call to Prayer for a Nation in Crisis in Houston, Texas; hundreds of thousands watched the event live-streamed at thirteen hundred webcast sites; the event was broadcast on GodTV to millions more around the world.  Yet The Response was a one-day event; the power of God is released in sustained prayer and ministry that derives from answers to prayer.  If you were there – Jim was – or not, now is the time to begin or continue praying for a new Great Awakening in our land.  And let us remember the message of the Response – it is the Church God calls to repentance.  When we follow God the nation will follow us into the Kingdom.

UPCOMING PrayNorthState EVENTS

  • Prophetic Acts With Impact comes to the Mantle of Prayer house in the Elk Grove suburb of Sacramento the weekend of October 7-9.  Prophetic Acts is the weekend seminar (Friday Night and all day Saturday) in which Jim teaches on the prophetic community described in 1 Corinthians 12 and 14, Romans 12, and Ephesians 4, that is God’s model for a New Testament cross denominational Body.  Participants are trained for launching Bible Reading Marathons, projects of targeted prayer, Prayer Vanguard ministries, and Prayer Tents.  The features of a Great Awakening and becoming an ambassador of reconciliation are included.  Call us at 530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.netfor information or to book your own event.

  • Jim offers Vision Casting and the Gifts of the Spirit at St. Michael’s Anglican Church in Ridgecrest the weekend of November 4-6.  Participants learn to operate in terms of God’s Kingdom vision instead of their own agenda for the Kingdom.  Jim teaches – with hands on experience – how to seek God for vision, practice His Presence, and walk out the vision He gives for the city.  Call or e-mail us for info to book your own weekend at PrayNorthState@charter.net or 530-941-3470.
  • Jim brings A Gospel of Power to St. James’ Anglican Cathedral in Fresno the weekend of November 11-13.  This, the newest PrayNorthState teaching event, trains participants to participate in God’s ministry of healing while preparing them to recognize and encourage the signs of God’s coming Great Awakening.  Call us at 530-941-3470 or e-mail for information or to book your own event.

  • Anyone desiring to participate or to gain a fuller picture of any of our current or upcoming events should go to the PrayNorthstate web site at www.praynorthstate.org or call us at 530-941-3470.
