| OCTOBER 2011 ISSUE – VOL. 11 #9
The Rev. Jim and Diana Wilson, Coordinators
Dear People of the Northstate Vision:
Many have heard me say the next Great Awakening will come from outside of the Church box. That is because God spoke a year ago, saying, “I have provided a great harvest for you and you have gathered it into barns and there it remains. I will tear down the barns and release the harvest.” (That doesn’t mean He will harm the Church; it means He will not be denied.) It is also because no Great Awakening in the US has been embraced by the Church in its beginnings. When the fruit becomes manifest the churches come on board and God treats them like vineyard workers coming aboard in the 11th hour – same pay and benefits as those who worked all day.
It has been so since the beginning. Moses was embraced by neither the Egyptian rulers nor the elders of his own people. David was not embraced by those loyal to Saul and Elijah had to contend with the Ahab cult. John the Baptist and Jesus Himself were viewed with suspicion by the authorities of their day and culture. St. Francis and Martin Luther offended the arbiters of the Faith because they seemed to be genuinely weird; the pioneers of Azusa Street and Toronto did likewise. This is not because those rulers were specially wicked; the establishment always thinks too highly of itself at the same time it sincerely believes revival can only come the same way it came when they were young and restless. And we remember the establishment is often correct, as the history of cults confirms. So what do we do? Â
We embrace the desperation of God for a new Great Awakening. We pray and encourage as though His call was everything. We check phenomena against Scripture and passionately pursue what passes muster – with joy. We respect our leaders, but we don’t wait for them; we wait upon God.
CURRENTPrayNorthstateEVENTS
- Prophetic Acts With Impact is presented at the Mantle of Prayer House of Prayer in Elk Grove Friday Evening and all day Saturday, October 7 and 8. This is the original PrayNorthState teaching event, the one in which we train to conduct Bible Reading Marathons over the city; prayer ministries that target specific issues for daily prayer, documenting and publish God’s response; Prayer Vanguard teams to bless churches, schools, businesses and government offices; and Prayer Tent ministries in public places. Friday Night is 7-9:30 while Saturday runs from 8-5. There is no charge, although freewill offerings will support PrayNorthState. Mantle of Prayer is located at 4806 Laguna Boulevard, behind Walgreen’s. Call us at 530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.net.
- Everything we know about revival and transformation are in the pages of The Holy Spirit and the End Times. All we have to offer on reconciliation – the pre-requisite for transformation – is found in Living as Ambassadors of Relationships. These books are recommended reading from the Miracle Channel (Living As…) and the International Healing Rooms (Holy Spirit) in addition to the major league endorsements they carry. They sell for $16.00, but we offer the set for $25.00. Prices include taxes; a $5.00 shipping charge is added to shipped orders. E-mail praynorthstate@charter.net or call 530-941-3470.Â
- To book any of the events we do – Praying Home the Prodigals, Seeding the Future, Prophetic Acts With Impact, Building A House of Prayer, or A Gospel of Power, call 530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.net.

WHAT’S UP IN THE NORTHSTATE AND BEYOND
- Jim is on Facebook; search Jim Wilson (the one from Redding – and see the photo of Jim and Diana to identify the page) for photos, video of the interviews on the Miracle Channel and such. It is all about PrayNorthState and we also have a PrayNorthState page; we are still developing that. Jim’s blog is accessible through the personal and PrayNorthState pages – see Networked Blogs or Notes on the page – and directly through WordPress.com. We hope everyone reads and “likes” our Facebook and blog pages.
- Forty Days for Life opened its Fall campaign on September 28 in more than two hundred sixty US cities another forty cities worldwide. The campaign has mobilized more than four hundred thousand volunteers to maintain silent prayer vigils outside abortion providing facilities. More than four thousand lives have been saved in the four years of the ministry’s operation to date, sixteen facilities have closed permanently, and an additional fifty-three employees at other facilities have left their jobs. (Two facilities closed within the past month alone.) The only tactic employed by the ministry is prayer. Go to www.fortydaysforlife.com for more information or contact local (Sacramento) leader Wynette Sills at 916- 955-1577 to get involved.
- The Continuous Worship Conference is held at the Grenada Community Berean Church, located at 512 6th Street in Grenada, 9:30 to 3:30 October 1. Led by Paul and Christine Braddy, the event will train Christians to walk out the prophetic word released by God in 2007 to “release the spirit of worship” in the land. Topics include philosophy in worship, flow, songwriting and rehearsal processes. There is a registration fee of $25.00 and lunch is included. The Braddy’s are co-founders of Continuous Worship and have led these events for the past dozen years. Call the church at 530-436-2529 to register.
- Mario Murillo returns to Red Bluff after a forty year hiatus for an evangelistic crusade at New Life Assembly Church at 6:30 PM each evening from Sunday, October 9 through Thursday, October 13. Fifteen churches and ministries are partnering in this event and it includes free haircuts one night, hot dogs another, a car show and a dog show. Admission is free. Call 530-682-7153.
- Redding’s Bethel Church hosts the annual Open Heavens Conference from Friday, October 14 through Sunday, October 16, on the church campus at 933 College View Drive. Keynote speakers this year include Bethel Senior Pastor Bill Johnson and Pastors John and Carol Arnott of the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. Johnson is a teacher, author, and world renowned expert on revival culture. The Arnotts presided over the release of grace known as the Toronto Blessing. Worship is led by Bethel Pastors Brian and Jenn Johnson, Jeremy Riddle, and William Matthews; all are popular recording artists and worship leaders. The cost is $89.00 per person and $155.00 per couple. The church reports the event already sold out; however, it can be viewed on Bethel Television by subscribers to the service. Call 530-246-6000.
- The Right Rev. Dr. Eric Menees takes office as the Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of San Joaquin October 22, in Fresno. (Yes, that is how we Anglicans title our leaders.) Menees succeeds Bishop John-David Schofield as Jim’s bishop after the latter’s two decade-plus ministry in Central California and all over the world. His tenure has witnessed violent crime drop so dramatically in his city after he co-founded the No-Name (cross denominational prayer) Fellowship it made national news. He has been a staunch defender of the faith in a time of rampant apostacy among some leaders. Christians of all stripes in Fresno refer to Schofield as simply the Bishop; his leadership will be missed. At the same time, Jim has known Bishop Menees long enough to recognize in him a worthy successor, chosen for “such a time as this.”
- The Greater Works Healing Rooms are now in operation at the Vertical Call  in Santa Rosa. They are open from 9-11 AM first and third Saturdays monthly. Call 707-575-5956 or go to www.verticalcall.com. The Vertical Call holds services of intimacy, intercession and impartation Sundays at 6 PM.
- Regional Pastors’ Prayer Meeting for Governmental Leaders and Issues holds monthly meetings in the state capitol on the first Wednesday of each month from 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM. Call 916-319-2003 for information. The meeting is hosted by Assemblyman Dan Logue and facilitated by Pastor John Lucas of Gloryland Revival Center. PrayNorthState is proud to participate in this opportunity to come before our King on behalf of California.
- The Semi Annual Leadership Advance conference hosted by Redding’s Bethel Church will be held from Monday, November 7, through Wednesday, November 9. Attendance is possible only by invitation or prior participation. Contact the church at 530-246-6000 for information. The cost is $170.00 per person with some scholarship help available.
- Christian Truth Ministries presents A Bible Prophecy Conference at Redding Christian Fellowship Sunday and Monday, October 16 and 17. Pastor Dave Honey will keynote the event with worship leadership provided by Pastor Jeff Needleman and Tyler Richardson’s Covered. Freewill offerings will be received. Call 530-949-8871 or e-mail pastordavehoney@yahoo.com.
- Any day now the United Nations Security Council will take an historic vote on whether or not to grant nationhood to the Palestinians who reside on the west bank of the Jordan River – traditional Israeli territory reclaimed during the 1967 Six Day War. Genesis 12:3 says plainly that any who bless Israel will be blessed and any who curse – reject – Israel will be themselves cursed. Pray for God’s justice – and remember that as Christians we do not defend every Israeli action, but our obligation to back Israel (Romans 9-11) is absolute.
UPCOMING PrayNorthState EVENTS
- Jim offers Vision Casting and the Gifts of the Spirit at St. Michael’s Anglican Church in Ridgecrest the weekend of November 4-6. Participants learn to operate in terms of God’s Kingdom vision instead of their own agenda for the Kingdom. Jim teaches – with hands on experience – how to seek God for vision, practice His Presence, and walk out the vision He gives for the city. Call or e-mail us for info to book your own weekend at PrayNorthState@charter.net or 530-941-3470.
- Jim brings A Gospel of Power to St. James’ Anglican Cathedral in Fresno the weekend of November 18-19. This, the newest PrayNorthState teaching event, trains participants to participate in God’s ministry of healing while preparing them to recognize and encourage the signs of God’s coming Great Awakening. Call us at 530-941-3470 or e-mail for information or to book your own event.
- Prophetic Acts With Impact returns with Jim to the Mantle of Prayer House of Prayer in Elk Grove for a second outing December 9-10. Director Shelley McInnis is determined to see trained up an army to bring the speaking of God’s Word over the city to her city, to field prayer warriors committed to a phalanx of prayer over crime, family crises and reconciliation of the races to the city, to field teams of Prayer Vanguard warriors to bless churches, schools, and businesses, and to house tents of prayer on city streets. Training for all of these ministries and more will be given. Watch this space for details.
- Anyone desiring to participate or to gain a fuller picture of any of our current or upcoming events should go to the PrayNorthstate web site at www.praynorthstate.org or call us at 530-941-3470.
