JANUARY 2011 ISSUE – VOL. 11 #1
The Rev. Jim and Diana Wilson, Coordinators
Dear People of the Northstate Vision:
I can’t think of a better way to begin the second decade of PrayNorthState than with the words of a third grade boy from Chula Vista, CA who was asked to explain God for homework. “One of God’s main jobs is making people…He doesn’t make grownups, just babies…God’s second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot of this goes on…”
“Jesus is God’s Son. He used to do all the hard work, like…performing miracles and trying to teach people who didn’t want to learn about God. They finally got tired of Him preaching to them and they crucified Him. But He was good and kind, like His Father, and He told His Father…to forgive them and God said OK.”
“You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time…If you don’t believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can’t go with you everywhere, like to camp, but God can. It’s good to know He’s around you when you’re scared, in the dark, or when you can’t swim…But you shouldn’t just always think of what God can do for you. I figure God put me here and He can take me back…”
It’s hard to imagine PrayNorthState beginning its second decade at the same time we begin the second decade of the twenty-first century. But it’s not hard at all to imagine why God said to bring on the children because of such is His Kingdom made. As He says in Luke 1:17, let us go forth in the spirit and power of Elijah, turning our hearts to the children – remembering we are not just here to raise them; we are here to become like them in Him.
CURRENTPrayNorthstateEVENTS
- Why do we do it? Our vision in PrayNorthState is to facilitate the building of a Kingdom community after the model of 1 Corinthians 14:26, in which “everyone has a hymn, a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation…done for the strengthening of the Church.” This model is presented and commended in 1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12, and Ephesians 4; it is prophesied in Isaiah 59, Ezekiel 11, Jeremiah 31, and Joel 2:28. Any dynamic and growing church has implemented it at the congregational level – but God has called for it at the whole Body of Christ level – and PrayNorthState exists to encourage this movement – one believer and one gathering at a time. Every Bible Reading Marathon, every Prayer Vanguard, every trip to pray – from state capitols to school campuses to company break rooms and board rooms, every prayer to break drought and hearts of stone – and every weekend teaching and radio program are for the purpose of bringing this vision to pragmatic life. We need your help. Call us at 530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.net to learn how you can partner with us.
- PrayNorthState Radio and TV has impacted the NorthState for Christ for the past eight decade. Our radio broadcasts are heard weekly on KBLF Red Bluff; KCNR Redding, KLXR Redding; KKXX Chico; and KHCW Mt. Shasta and Yreka. We are in serious need of new sponsors if our programming is to continue. Business persons or anyone wishing to serve the Lord as a sponsor of Christian broadcasting in a secular venue are encouraged to call us at 530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.net for information.
- To book any of the teaching events we do – Praying Home, Seeding the Future, Prophetic Acts With Impact, Building A House of Prayer, or A Gospel of Power, call 530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.net.

WHAT’S UP IN THE NORTHSTATE AND BEYOND
- Living as Ambassadors of Relationships was featured on four successive October weeks of The Bridge, a popular talk show on Canada’s Miracle Channel. This is major league (and unsolicited) recognition for Jim’s first book as an important contribution to God’s work – through His people – of reconciling all people to Himself through the Son. At the same time we just found out that the International Healing Rooms had selected The Holy Spirit and the EndTimes as their number one recommended reading book for November. Just as important (and just as unsolicited) is this recognition by the international healing rooms ministry that the book is a core primer for ordinary Christians who want to welcome transformative revival to their communities. Flip back one page to get the times and locations of Jim’s book signings on December 11.
- The Rains have already begun to come in abundance to NorCal; at the same time it is crucial that we be praying daily for continued plenty in this arena, and for an abundance of snow that has not yet manifested.  God tends to respond to prayer more than to confidence – for Him prayer is an end in itself.
- Genesis Generation Radio is on the air each Sunday Evening from 6-8 PM on Radio KCNR Redding, AM 1460, and KBLF Red Bluff, AM 1490, as well as live-streamed on KCNR1460.com. (The broadcast can be accessed anywhere in the world through the .com site; just click on the live broadcast button.) The program features rotating co-hosts crossing the generational lines to engage each other, and live calls from listeners. This is an opportunity to help bridge generation gaps and be ambassadors of reconciliation. We hope you will listen to this PrayNorthState initiative – on the air or on the internet.
- Genesis Generation Radio is the most wide ranging media project in the history of PrayNorthState. It is an opportunity to advance the Gospel and make reconciliation between the generations over secular airwaves as we participate in God’s plan to reclaim those airwaves for His Kingdom. It is also the most complex and expensive project we have ever undertaken. We began this broadcast with enough sponsor support to begin; we do not have the resources we need to sustain it indefinitely. We are seeking business, philanthropic, and church support. If you – or someone you know – might be a potential sponsor of Genesis Generation Radio, please call us at 530-941-3470 or write praynorthstate@charter.net and we will respond with details.
- Regional Pastors’ Prayer Meeting for Governmental Leaders and Issues holds monthly meetings in the state capitol on the first Wednesday of each month from Noon to 1 PM. Call 916-319-2003 for information. The gatherings join a small host of ministries meeting regularly to pray for the state, including PrayNorthState. Regional Pastors Prayer is hosted by Assemblyman Dan Logue and facilitated by Pastor John Lucas of Gloryland Revival Center.
- Jesus Culture Encounter returns to Redding January 7-8, 2011, featuring Banning Liebscher, Russell Evans, Jake Hamilton, Kristene DeMarco and the Jesus Culture Band. The event gathers a capacity crowd at Redding’s Convention Center for two days of worship and teaching about bringing the Gospel to peers. Go to Jesusculture.com/encounter for registration and information.Â
- Traction for Young Adults returns to the region January 5-8 (Wednesday through Friday) hosted by Bridgeway Christian Church in Rocklin. The event is designed to encourage and facilitate missions in and for the Genesis Generation – from remote isles to across the street in your neighborhood with a broad variety of workshops, worship opportunities, and times of prayer and preparation. Go to www.tractionforgod.com for information – even for late registration. Traction is a ministry of The Harvest Group.
- Doug Addison, founder of Inlight Connection, comes to Oasis Christian Ministry Center at 10265 Placerville Road, Ste 1, in Sacramento Friday and Saturday, January 15 and 16. Jim has ministered with hosting Pastors Joel and Georgia Pappas several times and if they are sponsoring it we are recommending it! Addison will teach on dreams and visions over the weekend of Martin Luther King’s birthday – speaking of visions – and there is a $40.00 registration requested. Call 916-364-0168 for information or registration.
- The Annual Regional Pastors’ Prayer Summit will be held at the YWAM (Youth With a Mission) base at Richardson Springs just outside of Chico from Monday, January 26 through Wednesday, January 28. Participation is through invitation; ordained ministers with a heart for the Kingdom of God in the NorthState region meet for three days of seeking God and enjoying each other in His Name.Â
- Sunday, January 23, is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. In the past decade support and respect for human life at all levels and stages of development has grown from 38% to a strong majority of the American people; this growth is due to prayer and compassionate ministries like Carenet Pregnancy Centers – 530-246-7075 – and LifeLight – 222-5200 – in the Redding Area, Women’s Resource Center in Chico – 530-899-0776, and Alternatives Pregnancy Center – 916-972-0367 in Sacramento. Contact any of these ministries for help in bringing a special celebration – and call to further concerted prayer and ministry – in this anniversary weekend of Roe Vs. Wade.
- A Pastors’ Luncheon will be held on Saturday, January 29, featuring speaker Stephen McDowell of the Providence Foundation speaking “Watchmen on the Walls: The Role of Pastors and American Liberty”. Call 916-783-2225 for details; admission is free and the event is sponsored by the Sacramento Area Council of Pastors.  The shape of American government and culture is a Gospel vision birthed in Colonial New England; this is a timely event.
UPCOMING PrayNorthState EVENTS
- Jim offers Praying Home the Prodigals at St. Francis’ Anglican Church in Turlock, February 25-27 and at Eureka United Methodist Church in Eureka March 4-6, 2011. Call 530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.net. Praying Home is the event for preparing the Body to become the ambassadors of Christ we are called to be. In it Jim teaches about warfare by honor, breaking off obstacles to witness, intervention, and the radical power of engagement – with hands-on experience included for all.
- A Gospel of Power is a new PrayNorthState weekend seminar. The weekend introduces participants to the Elijah Season in which we live in terms of the great outpouring of healing – all kinds – that characterizes it. Addresses include For Such a Time as This on Friday Night, with Saturday offering The Principles of Healing; Breaking the Power Paradigm; The Miracle of Inner Healing; and A Culture of Covenant. The teachings are based on Jim’s book, The Holy Spirit and the EndTimes. Hands-on practical experience is always included when Jim demonstrates transformative revival. We were born for such a time as this; Jim shows participants how to navigate the season with what the Lord has shown us at PrayNorthState. Call us at 530-941-3470 for info.
- Everything we know about revival and transformation are in the pages of The Holy Spirit and the End Times. All we have to offer on reconciliation – the pre-requisite for transformation – is found in Living as Ambassadors of Relationships. The books sell for $16.00, but we offer the set for $25.00. Prices include taxes; a $5.00 shipping charge is added to shipped orders.Â
- Anyone desiring to participate or to gain a fuller picture of any current or upcoming events should go to the PrayNorthstate web site at www.praynorthstate.org or call us at 530-941-3470.
