FEBRUARY 2011 ISSUE – VOL. 11 #2
The Rev. Jim and Diana Wilson, Coordinators
Dear People of the Northstate Vision:
We celebrate the tenth anniversary of PrayNorthState the first day of this
month doing pretty much what we have done for the past decade – coming
alongside people and ministries seeking the Kingdom – outside of the box.
Last week Jim and Diana participated in an annual prayer summit at the
YWAM base just outside of Chico. While there we ministered inner healing
to several of the leaders – obeying God who has said this is a special season
for the healing of leadership. Later in the week Jim attended across-the-
Body meetings in Sacramento and Fresno. The Sacramento meeting dealt
with taking back our nation for the Kingdom as a Body of Christ.
The information at the latter event (especially) was important as a reminder
that each of our political and social institutions (such as the Bill of Rights)
is the fruit of 17th Century Christian preaching; the Great Awakenings of
the mid 18th and early 19th Centuries literally shaped our self-understanding
as a nation and people; and our destiny is available only in and through the
covenants we formed with God and His Son in that crucible.
All of these meetings were important, Godly, and of great value for
their purposes. Yet I have to say that none of these meetings – or their
counterparts in other sections of the country – will achieve their purposes
until and unless we learn and apply a couple of simple albeit distasteful
lessons. One is that no one has stolen our heritage; we have let go of it over
decades and only repentance by the Body will restore authority to the Body.
Two is that revivals (like the Awakenings) are messy and will be offensive
to some; in all gentleness and humility we need to obey Jesus and not those
who oppose His Cross. Three is that we need to get set for some fun.
CURRENTPrayNorthstateEVENTS
Why do we do it? Our vision in PrayNorthState is to facilitate the building
of a Kingdom community after the model of 1 Corinthians 14:26, in
which "everyone has a hymn, a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue, or
an interpretation…done for the strengthening of the Church." This model is
presented and commended in 1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12, and Ephesians
4; it is prophesied in Isaiah 59, Ezekiel 11, Jeremiah 31, and Joel 2:28. Any
dynamic and growing church has implemented it at the congregational level – but
God has called for it at the whole Body of Christ level – and PrayNorthState
exists to encourage this movement – one believer and one gathering at a time.
Every Bible Reading Marathon, every Prayer Vanguard, every trip to
pray – from state capitols to school campuses to company break rooms and
board rooms, every prayer to break drought and hearts of stone – and every
weekend teaching and radio program are for the purpose of bringing this
vision to pragmatic life. We need your help. Call us at 530-941-3470 or e-mail
praynorthstate@charter.net to learn how you can partner with us.
• PrayNorthState presents A Gospel of Power for leadership at the ECCO
Conference Center February 11-12. Praying Home the Prodigals comes
to St. Francis' Anglican Church in Turlock February 25-26. Both of these
weekend events equip congregations for walking in the power of this Elijah
season in very generic terms. (That means Biblical truth and practice without
divisive trappings that identify with one stream or another.) The former is
about healing of the outer and the inner man, and restoration of our personal
creation; the latter equips for the ambassadorship Christ intends.
To book any of the teaching events we do – Praying Home, Seeding the Future,
Prophetic Acts With Impact, Building A House of Prayer, or A Gospel of
Power, call 530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.net.

WHAT'S UP IN THE NORTHSTATE AND BEYOND
• A Call for 30 Days of Concerted Prayer for our nation went out from the
Transformation for Reformation conference in Sacramento at the close of
January and sponsored by the Sacramento Area Council of Pastors. Ted
Rose, Chairman of the US National Council of Prayer delivered the call,
asking each of his hearers to pray daily for the Body of Christ to stand and
seek restoration of our national inheritance as a City on a Hill for the 30 days
between January 30 and February 28. We ask all in our network to respond to
this call, and to stand first in humble repentance for having dropped that ball as
the Body of Christ. There are no rules and no meetings – just 30 days of prayer.
• Being Impassioned is a conference coming to the Chico Prayer House –
3851 Morrow Lane in Chico – Thursday and Friday Evenings at 7 PM
and Saturday, 10 AM and 7 PM, February 3-5. Register on the web at
theimpassionedconference.eventbrite.com. Speakers featured are Pastors Gaylord
Enns, Larry Lane, and Ron LaGatta. Prayer House Director Ken Winton
will lead worship for the event.
• Sheila Walsh comes to Redding Friday and Saturday, February 4 and 5.
(Tickets remain only for the Feb. 4 event.) The former co-host of television's
The 700 Club is a popular author and speaker all over the world. She will speak
at Redding Christian Fellowship from 9-3 on Friday and repeat her presentation
on Saturday. Call RFC at 530-222-3425; the church is located on Victor
Avenue one block from Highway 44. This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity.
Sheila Walsh's visit is sponsored by Shasta County Women of Faith and more
than forty local congregations.
• Sierra Ministries International is a longtime partner with PrayNorthState.
The Rev. Dan Prout is offering a series of teachings called A Nation
Blessed. Dan teaches about the spiritual and social roots of our nation.
He plans presentations in Auburn – Feb. 6; Oroville – Feb. 13; Chico
– Feb. 16; Modesto – Feb. 20; Paradise – Feb. 27; and Palermo –
March 6, all in California. Contact Dan at 530-478-1478 or e-mail him at
sierraministries@nccn.net for directions and times.
• Gathering the Church in our Region features Lou Engle of The Call and
comes to the Chico Prayer House on Saturday, February 19, at 6 PM. This
presentation is about gathering the Anglo and Hispanic churches for common
worship and mission. The Prayer House is located at 3851 Morrow Lane in
Chico. There is no charge for admission; love offerings will be taken.
• Living as Ambassadors of Relationships was featured on four successive
October weeks of The Bridge, a popular talk show on Canada's Miracle
Channel. This is major league (and unsolicited) recognition for Jim's first book
as an important contribution to God's work – through His people – of reconciling
all people to Himself through the Son. At the same time we just found out
that the International Healing Rooms had selected The Holy Spirit and the
EndTimes as their number one recommended reading book for November.
Just as important (and just as unsolicited) is this recognition by the international
healing rooms ministry that the book is a core primer for ordinary Christians
who want to welcome transformative revival to their communities. .
• The Rains have come early and been taken for granted since God broke the
drought early in 2010. It was prayer that moved Him to break the drought and
we have had a record setting dry January 2011. Although we began the current
rainy season with record rain and snowfall we are currently about an inch below
what is considered normal for the region – and little relief in sight as we write.
Please pray hard and pray daily for both rain and snow. No – our prayers do not
cause God to move – but our neglect may well move Him to wait us out. Let
us praise Him and seek His face for the rain and snow we do dearly need – and
thank Him in advance for it!
• The Governor's Prayer Team asks concerted prayer from all of us on a
proposed new California law – Senate Bill 48 – advanced by State Senator
Mark Leno. (Leno has been the elected leader behind multiple attacks on
traditional marriage and other life issues in the legislature.) SB 48 – if enacted
– will compel curriculum materials from grades K through 12 – California
history is usually taught beginning in fourth grade – to devote equal time
to the achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people in
California public schools. That means less than two per cent of the population
will receive the same amount of coverage as the other ninety-eight per cent.
PrayNorthState asks prayer over this issue because it will profoundly impact
our freedom to practice and instruct our children in our faith. It will have just
as devastating an effect on our state budget crisis – for those who will speak to
their legislators about this issue – as it would compel the expensive re-writing
of the textbooks currently in use. Please pray hard that reason prevails and the
wisdom of God prevails in this controversy. Those who heed the call to prayer
at the top of this newsletter section can simply add SB 48 to their prayer focus.
• Regional Pastors' Prayer Meeting for Governmental Leaders and Issues
holds monthly meetings in the state capitol on the first Wednesday of each
month from 10 AM to 12 PM. Call 916-319-2003 for information. Regional
Pastors Prayer is hosted by Assemblyman Dan Logue and facilitated by
Pastor John Lucas of Gloryland Revival Center. PrayNorthState is proud to
participate in this opportunity to come before our King on behalf of California.
Genesee Home is a ministry of healing and refreshment for pastors and other
leaders of the Body that has been featured on PrayNorthState Radio. Directors
and Pastors Charles and Beverly Blom bring their special healing touch to
the week participants spend in the home. They are located in Taylorsville,
California. Go to www.geneseehome.org or call 1-866-715-7378.

breaking off obstacles to witness, intervention, and the radical power of
engagement – with hands-on experience included for all.

weekend seminar offers solid teaching on the dynamics of the current Elijah

experience. Other addresses provide teaching on the restoration of God's original
economy of sacrifice and the culture of covenant for which we are designed.
