SEPTEMBER 2009 ISSUE – VOL. 9 #8
The Rev. Jim and Diana Wilson, Coordinators
Dear People of the Northstate Vision:
Just the other day a bookstore owner complained of a neck so stiff
she could not turn her head. Jim prayed and it was healed before
he could get to his car; she came out of the store to praise God.
Three employees at the Redding Sears requested prayer while Jim
was looking for some merchandise. A mother tells Jim of a visible
Jesus and a couple of angels visiting her son after prayer from
a distance; the son is now pain free. The Lord reveals a grandiose
vision to a congregation that never before knew dreams and visions
and members are now praying for one another and seeing God move
in each others’ bodies. Still another congregation in drought
stricken Texas gathered the community to prayer for rain after a
PrayNorthState conference and saw rain come within a day of each
meeting. This season of miracles escalates in unlikely places –
praise God!
The dark season also advances. A church in San Leandro, California,
buys a property and the city forbids religious activities on the
property. Proposals keep surfacing in states to collect gasoline
taxes by tracking vehicles; Homeland Security stands by its alert
identifying Christians and pro-life people as potential terrorists;
the President declares that government and God partner in life and
death health decisions. All of the above raise the spectre of restriction
or elimination of the free exercise guarantee in our constitution
and opens the way for persecuting people of faith in the US. Such
persecution is already going on in democratic nations that permit
– for example – gay marriage; pastors are jailed for
speaking Biblical truth.
The good news is that God’s season wins, but He is adamant
that the Body stand by and with Him. That means rising to draw the
prodigals home now.
CURRENTPrayNorthstateEVENTS
• PrayNorthState offers Praying Home the Prodigals at Lighthouse
Christian Fellowship in Crescent City from Friday, September 11,
through Saturday, September 12. Call Pastor Scott Ratzloff at 707-218-5141
for information. We offer this harvest preparing event at St. James’
Anglican Cathedral in Fresno from Friday, September 25, through
Saturday, September 26. Call Dean Carlos Raines at 559-222-3721
for information. Praying Home is a walking out of Luke 10:2 –
the fields are white for harvest; let the workers come forth. Participants
learn to make warfare by honor and to release bindings on their
own hearts that compromise the impact of their witness in this special
season of favor for miracle and decision – we believe there
has never been a better time in which to serve Christ.
• PrayNorthState Radio and TV has impacted the NorthState
for Christ for the past eight and a half years. Our radio broadcasts
are heard weekly on KBLF Red Bluff; KLXR Redding; and KNTK Mt. Shasta
and Yreka. Our television program is seen Monday Mornings throughout
the region on Fox 20. We have enjoyed tremendous favor over the
years, but right now we are in serious need of new sponsors if our
programming is to continue. Business persons or anyone wishing to
serve the Lord as a sponsor of Christian broadcasting in a secular
venue are encouraged to call us at 530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.net
for information about this opportunity.
• If you would like to book any of the teaching events we
do – from Praying Home to Seeding the Future to Prophetic
Acts With Impact or Building A House of Prayer – call 530-941-3470

WHAT’S UP IN THE NORTHSTATE AND BEYOND
• We congratulate Susie Rodriguez of Redding; she won the
raffle for a week’s vacation or retreat at His Haven Refuge
in Brookings, Oregon. Go Susie!
• Oroville is on the map on Sunday of Labor Day Weekend –
September 6 – when Phil Keaggy and Randy Stonehill perform
in concert at Oroville’s Riverbend Park. This is their only
west coast show in 2009 and admission is free. Seating is limited
and can be reserved at classicchristianconcerts.com.
• Mom’s in Touch International is a ministry of faith
and faithfulness – the moms simply unite to pray for and bless
(in tangible ways) the schools in their communities. They have been
active in the NorthState – and PrayNorthState is proud to
partner with them – for a quarter century, meeting each week
for prayer. They will host a coffee for all interested – moms
or not – with kids in school or not – on Saturday, September
12, at 11 AM. They want to start new groups wherever the interest
and faith are present; they want to support and encourage all who
come out. Call Carolee at 530-224-9024.
• Also on Saturday, September 12, Randy Thomas of Exodus
International will keynote God’s Grace and the Homosexual
Next Door. The annual conference of Imago Dei Ministries will be
held at Redding First Naz Church from 9-4 at 2225 Bechelli Lane
in Redding. Call 530-223-0454 for information. Thomas will also
be the speaker at services for Redding First on Sunday, September
13. There is a registration fee of $50.00 for attendance.
• Teen Challenge International celebrated fifty years of
ministry – the most effective recovery ministry in history
– in 2008. This year they celebrate thirty-five years in the
northern valley of California – and that means Redding and
the region for which we are the hub. The annual banquet features
Nicky Cruz, the gang leader who met the Lord and launched (with
David Wilkerson) Teen Challenge and whose story is told in The Cross
and the Switchblade. Locations include Redding’s Holiday Inn
(September 17), Yuba City’s Best Western Inn (September 18)
and Sacramento’s Radisson Hotel (September 19). Tickets are
$35.00 per person and info is available at 800-437-1919.
• Campus Awakening is a ministry growing out of the Jesus
Culture movement. The student ministry comes to Neighborhood Church
of Chico on September 18 and 19 to train and equip students and
youth pastors to take their campuses for Christ. There is a cost
of $10.00 per person. Visitors from out of town are invited to camp
out on Friday Night on the church campus. Speakers include Jesus
Culture founder Banning Liebscher, Charles Rigby, and Zack Curry.
Register online at ncchicoevents.org or call 530-342-6006.
• The first regional expression of a statewide series of
Sacred Assemblies will be held on Saturday, September 19, (the Jewish
Feast of Rosh Hashanah) from 10 AM to 10 PM. Located at Impact Church,
8330 Brady Lane in Roseville, the event is a gathering of Christians
of all backgrounds and traditions who love California and are willing
to pray for her. Contact www.impactchurch.info. There is no charge
for participation. The assemblies have a four-fold purpose: to pray
and fast for the state, and seek God’s face and blessing;
to birth houses of prayer in the hub communities of the state; to
link the houses and support them in terms of 24/7 prayer; and to
establish houses of prayer within a thirty-minute drive of every
home in California.
• The Christian Business Men’s Connection – a
ministry of evangelism and support for the business community –
offers the annual Gold Scramble and Barbecue on Friday, September
25, at the Lake Redding Golf Course with a noon check-in, followed
by lunch. Donnie Pauling, a former producer of porn films who met
the Lord, will keynote the event. Tickets are available for $25.00
per person and reservations should be made by calling 530-223-4075.
Prizes and lunch are included. Anyone needing a golf cart must call
530-243-5531 in addition to the reservation call.
• Outreach America will give away one hundred bicycles at
the Tehama District Fair in Red Bluff on Saturday, September 26.
Pro BMX riders Jon Greer and friends will be featured at the outreach
event. There is no charge beyond admission to the fair for participation.
Call Treva at Outreach America (530-222-3083) to donate bicycles
or participate as a member of the event prayer staff.
• FaithWorks Coalition and Francis Court Transitional Housing
announce their first annual fundraising banquet and graduation ceremony.
Francis Court is a ministry of twelve family apartments built on
faith in which families can continue to learn independent skills
and dependence on the Lord. The ministry celebrates four years of
service to the homeless population – bringing them to stability
and freedom as they move on to permanent housing. Tickets are $20.00
per person; there is a silent auction at 6:30 PM; the dinner and
program begin at 7:30 PM and the event is held on Saturday, October
3. Call 530-242-1492 for tickets or information.
• Redding Transformation continues its three dimensional
project under the rubric of Safety Net – a ministry of transforming
neighborhoods that has won public grant support. MyWatch is a neighborhood
based networking program aiming to improve the health and safety
of specific neighborhoods through connecting neighbors; Project
18 is a mentoring program for teens as they leave the juvenile justice
system; and Safe Transitions provides temporary homes for battered
and abused mothers and their children. Call 530-222-9371 or go to
safetynetcommunity.net for information.

season – for $25.00. Prices include taxes, although a $5.00
