NOVEMBER 2009 ISSUE – VOL. 9 #10
The Rev. Jim and Diana Wilson, Coordinators
Dear People of the Northstate Vision:
Jim has just returned from the annual convention of his Anglican
diocese, his denominational covering. Hit by the recession, like
other bodies in the Body, the diocese is under the added burden
of ongoing lawsuits from its former denomination and the freezing
of all financial reserves by the courts until legal issues are sorted
out. In addition, they planned to introduce a new method of funding
that will likely reduce revenues unless a determined church planting
project shows early fruit. When the bishop asked Jim to coordinate
intercession for the convention he expected a most contentious meeting.
The intercessors agreed to pray the three prophetic words released
in 2006 over the diocese – and later over the whole Body of
Christ. They are: Release the Spirit of worship; Choose this day
Whom you will serve; and Rise, Take your pallet and Walk –
the time of paralysis is past.
The intercessors prayed faithfully throughout. They spoke aloud
scriptures tuned to the prophetic words over the gathering. They
watched as worship unfolded at each stage of the convention, as
persons with troublesome reputations expressed humility in service,
and as the gathering walked in such unity and power that the budget
– always the source of greatest tension and debate –
was adopted in five minutes. The atmosphere in which these things
happened was prayed in – but the participants chose to breathe
it.
Do we want to know how to navigate the economy, the confusion and
abusiveness of this social and political season, and the incredible
outpouring of God in the midst of it? Release the Spirit of worship;
Choose daily Whom we serve; Rise and Walk in power. And relax; God
has more riding on this season and people than we do. Pray it in
and choose to breathe it.
CURRENTPrayNorthstateEVENTS
• PrayNorthState offers Praying Home the Prodigals, a walking
out of Luke 10:2, at St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Chico,
and Solid Rock Church (co-sponsored by Hayfork Community Church)
in Hayfork – November 13-14 and 20-21 respectively. The fields
are white for harvest; let the workers come forth. Participants
learn to make warfare by honor and release bindings on themselves
and others – that compromise their witness in this special
season – there has never been a better time in which to serve
Christ. Call Father Peter Hansen (530-894-7409) or Pastor Keith
Wright (530-356-3157) for information.
• Jim begins November leading a retreat for Christ the Good
Shepherd Anglican Church in Henderson, Nevada. His topic is Celebrating
Saints in the Prophetic Community. He covers The Present Anointing
and Family Healing.
• PrayNorthState Radio and TV has impacted our region for
Christ since 2001. Our weekly radio broadcasts are heard in Redding,
Red Bluff, Mt. Shasta and Yreka; and on television Monday Mornings
throughout the region on Fox 20. We have enjoyed tremendous favor
over the years, but right now we are in serious need of new sponsors
if our programming is to continue. Business persons or anyone wishing
to serve the Lord as a sponsor of Christian broadcasting in a secular
venue are encouraged to call us at 530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.net
for information about this opportunity.
• If you would like to book or attend any of the teaching
events we do – or learn more about them – call 530-941-3470

WHAT’S UP IN THE NORTHSTATE AND BEYOND
• KNTK Mount Shasta (and Yreka) is one of three radio stations
carrying PrayNorthState Radio. The station has recently changed
hands and will now carry the call letters KCHW, but at the same
102.3 spot on the FM dial. Our Saturday Morning program airs at
7 AM. Our congratulations and praise to God for new owner Martin
Howell.
• By the end of October the Shasta region has received three
times the rainfall seen last year at this time. We are at near normal
rainfall for the first time in three years. It is a long season
before us, but we believe God means to break the longest drought
we can recall. We believe even more fervently that He has been waiting
for a critical mass of prayer to be released in the state. He will
stop at nothing to encourage us in prayer; let us stop at nothing
to encourage Him.
• Jim has been blogging for some months now in the Redding
Record-Searchlight. Please be in prayer that his work will be read,
that it will bless, and that it will impact. While you are praying,
please go to the site and – if you see a value in the blogging
– please post a comment. Go to redding.com.
• The Governor’s Prayer Team hosts prayer for governmental
leaders in Room 125 of the state capitol each month on the first
Friday from Noon to 1 PM. Pastors and intercessors are welcome.
Contact Stephanie Steele of the Governor’s Prayer team at
530-870-6906 for information.
• From time to time we have announced and asked prayer for
various churches who risk losing their property to their own denominational
authorities because of their stand for the authority of the Bible.
California’s Supreme Court ruled against some of these besieged
churches a few months ago, but the Supreme Court of South Carolina
recently ruled in favor of churches in that state facing an identical
situation. (California courts appear to be moving away from this
trend in more recent decisions.) The pending California cases have
all returned to trial court. Please pray – and pray every
day for the blessing of all concerned.
• The American Film Market is an annual event held in Santa
Monica, CA, from November 4-9 this year. Karen Covell – director
of Hollywood Prayer Project – and Pastor Gary Zethraeus of
LA Bridge – ask all of us to be in prayer during this event
in which decisions are made concerning which films will be made
in the coming year. Contact Karen at jkcmusic@earthlink.net for
information.
• Moms in Touch International will hold an event for women
of all denominations and situations on November 14 from 9 AM to
1 PM. Pray where you are or come (if you are local) to the Upper
Room at Bethel Church, Redding, to pray for children, schools, and
those who staff them. Register at momsintouch.org if you plan to
attend on-site – or to get information. Call Beth Wright at
530-244-5648 for information. This will be a powerful time of prayer.
This day of prayer is a worldwide event.
• California United With Jesus holds a conference for encouragement,
edification, and release into 2010 in Sacramento from Friday, November
13, through Saturday, November 14. Details are still being worked
out as of this writing and even the location remained TBA when we
received this notice, although we expect all is in place at this
time. Contact Maryal Boumann at maryal@innercite.com for details
or to participate.
• Traction comes to Sacramento December 27-29. This conference
event is keyed to connecting young adults of the Genesis Generation
with God’s passion – for them and for His Kingdom on
earth as it is in Heaven. The event kicks off on Sunday Evening,
12/27, with Lincoln Brewster in concert and registration for the
days following. Plenary speakers include Jeff Lewis on God’s
Greatest Passion; Lance Hahn on God’s Purpose to Glorify and
Make Himself Known; Jeffrey DeLeon on the Gospel of the Kingdom;
Kathy Giske on Kingdom Priorities in the 21st Century; and Reid
Saunders on Bringing Light to the Nations. There will be some fifty
workshops presented and multiple panel discussions. Jim will be
teaching a workshop titled “Breaking the Power Paradigm”
and speakers range in age and perspective. The event will be held
at William Jessup University in Sacramento. Contact the web site
www.tractionforgod.com for more information or to register. Watch
the December newsletter for details; set the days apart now!
• Perspectives on the World Christian Movement comes to Redding,
Chico, and Yuba City in January 2010. This fifteen week course features
fifteen different teachers and a wide variety of perspectives united
in the common passion to see and celebrate God taking the world
for His Kingdom with the participation of every one of the people
called by His Name. The Redding location will be Valley Christian
Fellowship on Rancho Road and the class will be held on Tuesdays
beginning on January 12. The Chico course will be held at Matthew’s
Café beginning Monday, January 11, and Yuba City is hosted
at Church of Glad Tidings beginning Sunday, January 10. There is
a fee for participation and more information will be available in
the December newsletter. Jim will be teaching the cross cultural
ministries unit and we cannot recommend this program of preparation
for the Great Commission too highly!
• Californians for Jesus asks Christians in California to
pray for families across the state; for Christ centered churches;
for children and the education system; for political leaders in
and running for office; the economy; the communities and tribes
of California; those who protect; the drought and environmental
and health concerns; and for media and technology. Pray hard and
pray daily.
• B & T Satellite and Redding Home Theatre has offered
a $100.00 donation to PrayNorthState following each purchase of
a sound system. Call 530-510-8101.
UPCOMING PrayNorthState EVENTS
• Praying Home the Prodigals comes to La Iglezia Nueva Vida
in Red Bluff on Saturday, December 5. The event is held from 9 to
5 and will cover the special anointing on this season; praying and
witnessing home the prodigals; warfare by honor; the privilege of
repentance; intervention as God’s doorway to healing; and
the radical power of engagement. There is no charge to attend although
love offerings will be taken during the event. Call Pastor Fred
Villasenor at 530-209-9535 or call us at 530-941-3470 for information.
• When Seasons Collide is a new PrayNorthState teaching series
that includes themes like Unprecedented Favor; Breaking the Power
Paradigm; A Runaway Freight Train; and Three Amigos – Elijah,
John the Baptist, and Barnabas. It is designed for this special
season. Also available is our series on the economy – Seeding
the Future – God’s Word for this Economy. Call us at
530-941-3470 or e-mail praynorthstate@charter.net for details or
to schedule.
• Everything we know about revival and transformation are
in the pages of The Holy Spirit and the End Times. All we have to
offer on reconciliation – the pre-requisite for transformation
– is found in Living as Ambassadors of Relationships. The
books sell for $16.00, but we are offering the set – in this
season – for $25.00. Prices include taxes, although a $5.00
shipping charge is added to shipped orders. Jim has guested on nationally
syndicated radio programs The Truth Uncovered, The Frank Pastore
Show, and Bytes. Holy Spirit and the End Times has also been translated
into Indonesian; these books are hot!
Anyone desiring to participate or to gain a fuller picture of any
current or upcoming events should go to the PrayNorthstate web site
at www.praynorthstate.org or call us at 530-941-3470.
