JUNE 2009 ISSUE – VOL. 9 #6
The Rev. Jim and Diana Wilson, Coordinators
Dear People of the Northstate Vision:
The last day of May is the Feast of Pentecost – the Harvest
– and the first day of June is the next day of the harvest
season. A dear friend of mine tells of her plans to celebrate Pentecost
with the Messianic congregation in which she worships. The people
will gather under the chuppa – the Jewish wedding canopy –
and renew their commitment to Yahweh in terms of the Ten Commandments
as their wedding vows. I cannot imagine a more imaginative way to
celebrate inauguration of the New Covenant in His blood. But what
does this renewal of vows mean in practical terms?
Ruth is the quintessential Biblical image of the faithful bride.
The elders say of her at her wedding to Boaz, “We are witnesses.
May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel
and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel.” There
was conflict between Rachel and Leah, and they still built up the
house of Israel; in this season of Elijah promise and Elijah challenge
there is no space for conflict. The Body must be united in Her commitment
to carry out the commission of Her Husband and Lord.
I am reminded of one more Pentecost image – the one God gave
last year at this time. He wondered aloud if I was curious as to
why the apostles were not understood when first they spoke the Good
News in the languages of those gathered outside the Upper Room.
He explained that their words were distorted by having to penetrate
the walls of the Church. He pointed out that they were clearly understood
when they went outside. Our opportunity and our challenge is to
do what they did, armed with the city reaching vision they lacked.
He calls each of us members of the prophetic community; the time
is now and the season is short. God bless you – now more than
ever.

WHAT’S UP IN THE NORTHSTATE AND BEYOND
• The Redding chapter of Christian Business Men’s Connection
will hold a Business Networking Forum Luncheon at the Jade Garden
on Hilltop Drive. Known principally for their sponsorship of annual
community leaders’ prayer breakfasts, the group provides monthly
opportunities for business persons to pray together and network,
as well as weekly prayer meetings. Tickets for the luncheon are
$10.00 at the door. Call 243-2581 for information.
• The Redwood Coast Ladies Christian Non-Denominational Paradise
Conference will be held June 5-7 at the Lighthouse Community Church,
located at 2455 Oliver Street in Crescent City. Their 2009 theme
is taken from Revelation 2:7, in which God promises the faithful
the right to eat from the tree of life in Paradise. There is a $20.00
fee for participation. Call 707-464-3244 or 218-8479 for information
or to reserve space. All women of any denomination are welcome.
• Pacific Justice Institute leaders Brad Dacus and Kevin
Snider will offer a one-day seminar on Legal Challenges for Today’s
Religious Organizations. PJI was one of the principal ministries
defending Proposition 8 before the state Supreme Court; they have
successfully defended the right of parents to home school their
children without holding a teaching credential and the rights of
students to hold Bible club meetings on campuses in the past year.
The seminar is free and is sponsored by American River Bank. The
event takes place in the Rancho Cordova City Hall on Wednesday,
June 11, from 8:30 to 11:30 AM and a continental breakfast will
be served. Admission is free. Call Diana Walery at 916-231-6717
for information or to reserve space.
• Californians 4 Jesus and Christian Educators Association
organized an event in March called Blessing Our Schools that drew
Christians with a heart for blessing public schools from all over
the state to converge on First Baptist Church of Sacramento for
two days of prayer and testimony. The worshippers prayed inside
the state capitol to climax the event. (Bonnie Phillips, aunt of
Columbine martyr Rachel Scott, was among the speakers.) They are
organizing another such event on Saturday, June 13, to be held at
the same location – the corner of L and 23rd Streets. The
event runs from 10 AM to 3 PM and will combine prayer, worship,
and the sharing of vision. There is no admission charge; bring your
heart for the Kingdom and for the schools in California. Call organizer
Dai Sup Han at 530-570-0085 for info.
• The Anglican Church in North America – ACNA –
is a new province of the Anglican Communion holding its inaugural
national assembly in Dallas, Texas, from June 22-25. This is part
of the fulfillment of prophecy spoken over the Anglicans of North
America in 1997 – in Philadelphia – that God would resurrect
this branch of His Body by making them not just orthodox Christians
but Great Commission Christians. One of the new jurisdictions –
known as the Diocese of Western Anglicans – enters this branch
of the Body with nearly half of its twenty-two congregations the
fruit of church planting. (The Diocese is one of two ACNA dioceses
centered in California.) Rick Warren, Senior Pastor of Saddleback
Church, will be one of three keynote speakers. Jim will participate
in the launch along with leaders of his home Diocese of San Joaquin.
• Taking Back the Night and internship for peers who burn
for young adults (aged 18-30) of the Genesis Generation. Sponsored
by the International House of Prayer East Bay, and located at 7485
Village Parkway in Dublin, the internship runs from June 1 through
July 24. There is a $300.00 tuition charge and housing (if needed)
will cost $1000.00 additional for the two months. Information is
available at www.ihopeastbay.org or by e-mailing info@ihopeastbay.com.
• Another East Bay House of Prayer is now open in Antioch.
Full and part-time positions for intercessory missionaries to Antioch
young people are available; missionaries must raise their own support
for housing amounting to $550.00 per month. Call Tamara Bryant at
925-708-6618 for information if you are called.
• Fusion and Main Event Youth comes to San Jose on June 19,
Cathedral of Faith; July 17, Santa Clara United Methodist; August
21 at Milpitas’ New Vision Church. Events are Fridays from
5:30 to 9:30 PM. Go to www.fusionsouthbay.com for more information.
Events are free.
• Simpson University is a four-year Christian liberal arts
university located in Redding and boasting a nationally recognized
education department, the Aspire Program for working students, and
a full ride seminary, among many other academic and spiritual opportunities.
PrayNorthState has always launched our Paah-ho-ammi prayer projects
on the campus, thanks to the generosity of administrators who donated
facilities to us. The university cannot donate to all comers, but
they are seeking opportunities to be a destination for many ministries
and events. Contact Paul Davis at 530-226-4971 for information about
holding an event or seeking assistance for ministry.
• B & T Satellite and Redding Home Theatre has offered
a $100.00 donation to PrayNorthState following each purchase of
a sound system. Call 530-510-8101.

launching at All Saints Anglican Church in Bakersfield on September
25-6, and The Miracle of Inner Healing for the Order of St. Luke
in Sacramento on Saturday, October 3. Watch the newsletter for details.
• Everything we know about revival and transformation are
in the pages of The Holy Spirit and the End Times. All we have to
offer on reconciliation – the pre-requisite for transformation
– is found in Living as Ambassadors of Relationships. The
books sell for $16.00, but we are offering the set – in this
season – for $25.00. Prices include taxes, although a $5.00
shipping charge is added to shipped orders. Jim has guested on nationally
syndicated radio programs The Truth Uncovered, The Frank Pastore
Show, and Bytes. Holy Spirit and the End Times has also been translated
into Indonesian; these books are hot.
