APRIL 2009 ISSUE – VOL. 9 #4
The Rev. Jim and Diana Wilson, Coordinators
Dear People of the Northstate Vision:
The long road trip of March was well worthwhile in terms of all
that God did. We served in churches that have wanted His dramatic
intervention and had not seen it. God healed cases of arthritis
and restored hearing in one. A blown disc was reconstituted and
knees set for surgery were restored in another. Inner healings restored
years that the locust had consumed in terms of spiritual paralysis.
One man reported his back healed during worship; he had not even
asked for prayer! But this was not the core of God’s activity.
The teaching was all about dealing with those we call prodigals
– whether our children, our peers, or even our elders. (Colleagues
and former colleagues were included.) As people heard the message
that our own repentance – regardless of fault – is the
greatest privilege of all time – and as we forgave those from
whom we are estranged without reference to what they might deserve
– hearts were set free and new visions cast. How a more appropriate
season of Lent might be observed is beyond me.
For Jim the best of all was the privilege of ministering to his
own tribe – the Anglicans who are rising from the wreckage
of a denomination dying of its own apostacy and seeking not compensation
but new life. Several invitations have been extended to come south
again later in 2009 – in venues across the Body – and
we look forward to them. In addition, Jim has been invited onto
several nationally syndicated radio programs to discuss his books,
and the trip was rounded out with a time of prayer and proclamation
of blessing over the public schools in Sacramento. God’s love
and justice collided once before – on the Cross. In this Elijah
season He is doing it again as He prepares for His unpredictable
but utterly dependable return.

persons are located. Call PrayNorthState at 530-941-3470 for information

doors that He alone can open?
· The annual Bible Reading Marathon returns to Redding May
4 though 7. Christians will read the whole Word of God over the
city from the breezeway at City Hall in fifteen minutes increments.

WHAT’S UP IN THE NORTHSTATE AND BEYOND
· National Day of Prayer is right around the corner. May
7 – the first Thursday of the month – is the day itself,
although national leadership is seeking more and more to think of
the occasion as National Daily Prayer. In Redding the observance
begins with the annual Bible reading marathon – from 6 AM
on Monday, May 4, through Noon on Thursday, May 7, at the Redding
City Hall at 777 Cypress Avenue. Worshippers will gather at 7 PM
on Wednesday, May 6, to praise God for the nation, participate in
a variety of prayer tents, and share testimony of what God is doing
in the region. On Thursday, May 7, the traditional observance of
prayer by leaders from all spheres will occur at Noon, to be followed
by a prayer walk to various strategic locations.
· In Orland the Day of Prayer will be observed at Noon at
the Library Park – corner of 4th and Mill Streets. Call 530-865-3403
for info – and let us know at PrayNorthState what your community
is planning.
· Christians are often painted as out-of-touch curmudgeons
for our insistence that only marital fidelity – not condoms
– can stop the spread of AIDS and other sexually transmitted
killers. But Harvard University agrees with us! Edward Green directs
the AIDS research project for Harvard. He states that no correlation
between condom use and reductions in AIDS infections has been found
in a quarter century of research. To the contrary, he says, there
is a consistent relation between the use and availability of condoms
and higher rates of infection. Let us pray that truth will be received
and action based on it.
· Leaders from all over the state gathered at the state
capitol from March 27-8 to pray for and bless public schools and
young people in general. At this time only 30% or so of young people
are sexually active prior to age 18; abortions are down by 30% –
and all are searching. Participants discussed strategies already
implemented for reaching and encouraging young people as they seek
God’s face and their own destiny. PrayNorthState was privileged
to prayer walk the site of the training and Jim gave one of many
addresses. What can be done in the state capitol can be done anywhere
in California – and should be.
· The Anglican Diocese of San Joaquin is home to Jim –
it is where his ordination is covered. They withdrew from the Episcopal
Church in 2006 in light of that denomination’s ongoing apostacy
and the Church is suing in secular court to claim all properties
belonging to the diocese in retaliation. Pray for justice in the
court and a heart of forgiveness and blessing on the part of the
diocese. While we are praying, let us also pray for the Salem Broadcasting
Network – a secular radio concern that shares the Gospel of
Faith each day – and is experiencing difficulties right now.
· Sixteen churches are partnering in Southern California’s
Conejo Valley (Ventura County) spread the Word of God on Palm Sunday,
April 5. Teams of three and four will fan out at 2:00 PM on the
Sunday to distribute flyers and 14,000 Bibles the churches have
jointly purchased. Several of the congregations are fasting in preparation.
Please pray for them – and ask if God is leading you in your
area to such a project. Call PrayNorthState at 530-941-3470 for
information on organizing it.
· Lieutenant Colonel Steve Russell will keynote the 24th
Annual Community Leaders’ Prayer Breakfast in Redding on Friday,
April 10, from 7:00 to 8:30 AM in the Simpson University Gymnasium.
Russell commanded the 1st Battalion of the 22nd Infantry –
the unit that captured Sadaam Hussein – in Iraq. Retired from
the Army, he currently serves in the Oklahoma State Senate. Tickets
are $15.00 and a table of 8 may be sponsored for $120.00. Call Shelley
at CBMC – Christian BusinessMen’s Connection –
at 530-275-9401 for information or tickets.
· House of Davis Ministries and Intervarsity International
Student Ministries are partnering at Chico State University to host
Bert Schapelhouman – sole survivor of a family caught by the
Nazis in the act of aiding Jews during World War II. The event will
occur on Wednesday, April 15, at 7 PM, in Chico’s BMU Building,
Room 210. Admission is free.
· Julia Loren is a licensed pastor and family counselor
in Redding, as well as an accomplished author and speaker. She offers
Love and Glory: An Experience in Reawakening on Saturday, May 9,
from 10:30 to 5. The workshop is designed to re-invigorate –
with the peace and the joy of the Lord – ministers of all
kinds from pastors to caregivers to disaster relief workers. There
is a charge of $75.00 and info is available at windsongoutreach@gmail.com.
Loren is the author of Breaking the Spirit of Despair and Dancing
in the Fullness of Joy. She will share teaching duties with Mary
Andersson, NorCal leader and author of Scrupulous Conformity and
For Freedom’s Sake.
· Sierra Ministries International is a longtime partner
of PrayNorthState, and a leader in the Healing Rooms movement in
California. Based in Nevada City, they offer a ministry training
seminar titled Authority to Heal in Oroville April 24-5. There is
a $45.00 charge for registration -- $20.00 for youth – at
the Oroville Nazarene Church. Call 530-533-7464 for information.
Hours are 7-9:30 on Friday and 9 to 4 PM on Saturday. The Rev. Dan
Prout leads the event and is an internationally recognized leader
in the field.
· B & T Satellite/Redding Home Theatre sponsored PrayNorthState
Radio until owner Doug Tooley took a leave of absence from his business
to care for his wife, Summer, who later went to be with the Lord
after cancer destroyed her earthly body. Doug is now re-committed
to the satellite TV business and has offered to donate $100.00 to
PrayNorthState for every order he receives. Call Doug at 530-510-8101
to help support PrayNorthState and acquire high quality home entertainment
products delivered with equally high integrity.

Given. A special offering of Worship as Warfare is included this

· Jim’s new book – The Holy Spirit and the End
Times: A Season of Unusual Miracles – is out. Everything we
know about revival and transformation – and a whole lot of
good stories – are in its pages. The book sells for $16.00,
and we offer a special bargain for a limited time – a set
of Living As Ambassadors of Relationships and The Holy Spirit and
the End Times for $25.00. Prices include taxes, although a $5.00

– Jim has guested on the Katherine Albrecht show and Bytes,

THAT WE WOULD FIND CONTENTMENT LIVING IN THE TENSION BETWEEN WHAT
GOD HAS DONE AND WHAT HE
