show the centrality of reconciliation in the life of the Christian.
Jesus makes it the core of the mission when He instructs the apostles
to go as Jesus Himself was sent -- knowing that those sins they
forgive are forgiven and those they retain are retained. Paul stresses
the hear cry of the Lord our God that we should be ambassadors of
that reconciliation for which the Son gave His life.
The book is split into an even dozen chapters, each of them dealing
with a social or cultural division we all experience and each urging
us to recognize the glass house in which we live and be more eager
to repent than to call others to repent. We are promised abundant
life in exchange.
